edret.net is devoted to the exploration of RUNA ~ the mystery of Mystery ~
as expressed through ancient and modern Germanic esotericism. Saturnin
Sektor is honored to be a part of this site, and to repay its influence
by the Teachers found there and beyond.
Both Saturnin Sektor releases (the self-titled CD, plus The
Solstice Variations are available for sale through
Aucourant Records,
one of the premier labels and distros for cutting-edge electronic,
acousmatic, and electro-acoustic music.
18-OCT-2008 - The Solstice Variations
The Solstice Variations
collection of musical rituals is now available. Contact
obverse@saturnin.fastmail.fm for more info. This short video of
Metropolis gives a suitably cryptic preview of several of the aural
experiments now unleashed:
11-OCT-2008 - Long-awaited update
Updates (or lack thereof) to this minimal website are not suitable
indicators for the totality of activity of Saturnin Sektor.
In the intervening months since the last update, a pair of two
thematically-related CDs has edged closer to coming into Being.
The next release, officially unleased on Samhain, but available
slightly earlier to those dwell in the Fane of the Flame of Ba,
will be a set of five pieces called
The Solstice Variations.
More information is available by contacting obverse@fastmail.fm
14-JUL-2008 - cSound files for some pieces now available
Many of the pieces created under the Saturnin Sektor banner will
be created in whole or in part via
cSound. As part of
participating in the cSound community (which is vital to the continued
development of it as the premier low-level synthesis language), I am
posting the cSound code for some of the music I have created.
Further info can be found with the individual songs so presented in
the MUSIC section of this website.
05-JUN-2008 - PayPal links for CD, Recital
Links to a PayPal shopping cart have been added to the
MUSIC page to simplify purchasing the CD.
Today the Sound Diffusion recital from Adam Scott Neal took place. By all accounts it was a
disturbing success.
23-MAY-2008 - CD now available
The first release under the Saturnin Sektor name is now available.
See the MUSIC page for ordering info.
15-MAY-2008 - Myspace
For better or worse, Myspace now has to endure this Presence as well:
NOTE: No "Friend" requests will be accepted, except for those fellow
travellers personally known to the mysterion called
Saturnin Sektor.
12-MAY-2008 - CD track listing
The track listing for the upcoming Saturnin Sektor CD is:
These Fragments I Have Shored Against My Ruins (6:55)
Irrlicht (10:18)
The Other Side of Oblivion (4:38)
Soon Silence Will Have Passed into Legend (7:06)
Dreams Beneath the Shifting Sands (9:44)
The Bone Season (7:47)
The CD contains a mixture of ambient, experimental electronic, and
droning musical textures, all with a mysterious and obscure approach
to the Saturnian and Lovecraftian aspects of the awakened Mind.
Officially, the release date will be May 23 (which happens(?) to be the
Day of Disunity in Discordianism). There is nothing particularly
Discordian about the music, except the level of discord the music contains
in spite of itself.
11-MAY-2008 - Upcoming performance, CD news, Bio
"The Bone Season" will be part of a sound diffusion recital by Adam
Scott Neal at the Sonic Arts Research Center in Belfast.
The audience will be completed enveloped by the vast 40.6 surround
sound system, and some may even live to tell about it.
The finishing touches are being made to the CD master and layout. It
should be available in limited release sometime around May 21.
An "About" section has now been added, giving the latest bio for the
mysterion calling itself Saturnin Sektor...
Reyn til Rûna
02-MAY-2008 - Complete Site Redesign
Saturnin Sektor is unleashed. The World of Horrors is now
subtly and irrevocably different.
24-APRIL-2008 - New Music
CDs will be available soon...
A sample of a new song, "These Fragments I Have Shored Against My Ruins",
has now been uploaded to the "Music" section. Also, "The Other Side
of Oblivion" has been reworked somewhat and an excerpt of the new version
has now been uploaded as well; the previous version has disappeared
down the memory hole.
